SmartCookie Media (“SmartCookie,” “we,” “us”) helps local service businesses get found and booked. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

It covers smartcookiemedia.co, our checkout pages, our digital products (like the Get Found Forecast and 50-Mile Famous: Your 90-Day Marketing Action Plan), our questionnaires and our emails. By using them, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and business name, when you buy, fill out a form, book a call or join our email list.
• Purchase details: what you bought and when. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
• Questionnaire answers: details about your business, your services, your local market, your goals, your budget and the time you have for marketing.
• Calculator entries: the numbers you type into our calculators. These stay in your browser unless you choose to save or email your results.
• Call recordings: when we meet on Zoom, the recording, transcript and AI-generated notes of the call.
• Messages: anything you send us by email, chat, phone, video or social media.

Information collected automatically

• Your IP address, browser, device type and general location (city or region).
• The pages you visit, how you got to our site and what you click.
• Cookies and similar tools (see section 4).

2. How we use your information

• To deliver what you bought, including access links, files and your personalized Action Plan.
• To build recommendations for your business from your questionnaire answers.
• To answer your questions and give support.
• To process payments and keep records for taxes and accounting.
• To send emails about your purchase, plus marketing emails you can opt out of at any time (see section 5).
• To understand how people use our site and improve it.
• To measure and improve our ads.
• To protect against fraud and follow the law.

Questionnaire answers and AI tools

We use AI tools to help organize your questionnaire answers into a first draft of your plan. Nicole personally reviews and refines every plan before it is delivered. We keep model training turned off in our AI tools, so your answers are not used to train their models. We do not enter payment details into AI tools.

Call recordings

When we meet on Zoom, we may record and transcribe the call using Zoom or Fathom, which use AI to summarize it. We use these notes to share action items with the people on the call. You’ll be notified at the start of the call when it’s being recorded.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run our business, and only what they need to do their job. They are required to keep it confidential.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or if our business is sold or merged. If that happens, this policy still applies to your information.

4. Cookies, analytics and ads

Cookies are small files your browser saves. We use them to keep checkout working, remember your preferences, see how people use our site and measure our ads.

We use Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel. These tools may show our ads to you on other sites after you visit ours (this is called remarketing).

Your choices:

• Turn off or delete cookies in your browser settings. Checkout may not work without them.
• Change how Google shows you ads at Google Ad Settings.
• Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Change how Meta shows you ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

Do Not Track: browsers send Do Not Track signals in different ways, and there is no common standard yet. Our site does not change how it works when it receives one. The choices above are the best way to limit tracking.

5. Emails

When you buy or sign up, we email you about your purchase and may send marketing emails, like tips, workshops and offers.

• Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re off the list.
• You can also email team@smartcookiemedia.co and we’ll remove you.
• Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send emails about something you bought, like your access links or your Action Plan.

We follow the CAN-SPAM Act: no misleading subject lines, our mailing address is in every marketing email, and we honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

6. How we protect your information

Our site uses SSL encryption, and we scan it for malware and security issues. Only people who need your information to serve you can access it. Payments run through our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.

No system is 100% secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will email you within 7 business days of finding out.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your information as long as we need it to serve you, keep business records and follow the law. We keep questionnaire answers for up to 3 years, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

8. Your choices

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal information we have about you
• Correct it
• Delete it, unless we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons
• Stop sending you marketing emails

Email team@smartcookiemedia.co and we’ll respond within 30 days. Some states, like California, give residents more rights. We will honor those rights where they apply.

9. Children

Our services are for business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

10. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites. Their privacy policies, not ours, cover what they do with your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Big changes will also be announced by email.
